Set up in 1987 by David and Mandy Reed, The Swaledale Cheese Company continues to produce artisan cheeses using traditional methods in the heart of Swaledale.

The recipe has been handed down through generations of swaledale farmers and their families and remains a high quality product which is reflected in the level of awards the cheese regularly receives.

The company prides its self as being a family run business and firmly believes that our standard of quality and customer care is evident in our products.

The British Cheese Awards 2011

We have just been awarded a massive 4 medals at the 2011 British Cheese Awards! A bronze each for the Swaledale goat and Old Peculier Swaledale, Another bronze for the Swaledale Ewe PDO in the export category and a Silver for the Swaledale Ewe PDO in the sheep’s cheese class.
